Do I've been talking to a close friend of mine as well as another few people on umd about wam in leather clothes. What are your opinions on it?
To me it's quite tricky. I will gladly do wam in vegan leather clothes such as a jacket or skirt, however if boots or shoes are real leather I don't mind getting that stuff messy. I think it's because my shoes are already subjected to getting dirty daily. I never ruin my clothes when I do messy stuff and I know shoes especially are very resilient. The reason I would only get vegan leather messy if it was a jacket or a skirt is because I feel I'd have a higher chance of accidentally ruining those items. I really have a issue with waste especially when it comes to something such as leather which is a animal product. I plan to buy a fur coat and of course being me I'll get it wet, however following along my same moral path I would hate to ruin something that is a product made from a living animal due to my own hobbies.
Certainly my opinions are shaped my my deep seated opinions on nature, preservation, and animal rights; however, it is quite strange I don't see a issue with wam involving real leather shoes. I feel my justification makes sense to me that shoes are resilient and are expected to get messy anyways. What do you think of my opinions? Aldo what are your opinions of what of leather or leather alternatives like what my old leather skirt was made of and most of my cheap shoes and boots. Is one better than the other?
Let's have fun chatting!

often i use second hand fashion and shoes, or something with little damages. I'm trying to use the clothes many times before i put it in a garbage can. That's my way to do it for a pure, clear conscience.
Very good to start this chatting about leather. Thanks for doing that. I am from Denmark, and love to get wet and messy in my leatherjeans and jacket. Mainly real leather. It feels so nice and soft when wet and messy. I get wet under the shower, at the beach in summer, in the tub or in rain When I get muddy its in the garden or in the forest. messy is with custard and cream and sometimes a beer-shower lol
The times when I do get messy I wear faux leather or vegan leather products. Depending on the style and manufacturer some of these faux leather items are closer to being PVC, minus the high shine; due to the large rubber content in them.
Despite what many think I am very conscious about the environment and waste. The only real leather item I own is my wallet with everything else being made from more friendlier alternatives.
The real bonus of faux leather and rubber material rather than real leather is the rubber can survive almost anything you can throw at it

Definitely my sentiment too! I really am not a fan of using real animal products in clothes unless they're vintage. I recently bought a fur coat but it's over 60 years old so I'm less concerned about the environmental impact.
You're right, faux leather is much more resilient too. I have a pair of brown faux leather boots I got from Forever21 a few years ago and they've been covered in all the possible messes I do and they still look great.
I love leather jackets, though I don't owe them myself. They have this real badass look. Especially in combination with leather pants they really excite me. And especially when they get muddy, of course.
I also love the combination of a leather jacket and a dress/skirt. Cool and strong on the one hand, cute and feminine on the other.
I get the question of ruining them though, as the one thing I ever ruined in the mud was a leather belt. That said, it doesn't have to be real leather for me either, fake leather does it just as well for me.
Wrt leather boots, I do love the doc marten type boots. They also feel like they're designed to get muddy to me. Although I feel they aren't truly muddy until your socks inside are muddy too. With taller boots, they're nice but I do sometimes wish they were rubber when I see them. Rubber boots are way more exciting for me in that case
Seeing girls mess up leather outfits is one of my favourite fantasies and sometimes maybe you can add a fur jacket as well. It is all just so wanton and extravagant. I tend to like the idea of girls in leather jackets over a low cut top, leather trousers, leather boots over the trousers and gloves, or even a catsuit with boots and gloves. And then cover them in sweet things like custard, trifle, cakes etc, or even mud or wet or even all three. And even more of a fantasy that the girl is so rich not to care too much about the expensive clothes she is ruining or indeed where she is messing as she self pies herself, smears her clothed self with custard and trifle and sits on cakes etc in her beautifully furnished house without any precautions taken. I think messylthr you hinted at being less careful with your surroundings sometimes when getting messy on another post I noticed.
Anyway back to the wam practical real world I suppose if you want to make maximum use of your clothing it is probably best to have more durable leather that lasts many sessions or cheap clothing that won't matter so much when it falls apart. Also interesting point Chic_Mud about the ethical thing of messing a product from an animal just to get trashed by a human (though I get also the point about real leather footwear).......there is also the expense considering it might be quickly ruined.Possibly best therefore to stick with vegan leather/faux leather, it looks so realistic anyway, such as your brown boots, loved the picture, and definitely more durable, maybe you could invest in some faux leather leggings, seemingly very fashionable right now.....they would look great tucked into those boots, then you could wear your vintage fur coat or a leather jacket and also some faux leather gloves, total body clothes coverage, and then go out in the rain and splash in muddy puddles or go into a muddy pond......or even get in the bath, either wet, or really messy with a wash off? Just a thought, but obviously up to you.........
I get messy and wet in leather on a regular basis. Myself and my wife have ruined a number of leather clothes by getting them wet, getting them messy or muddy and straight out destroying them during bedroom PT. Leather clothes are plentiful and cheap on ebay and as long as you buy them for the purpose of getting wet ect, then it shouldn't be a problem. I don't really see the point with the fake leather clothes as they are essentially plastic and getting them wet or messy has absolutely zero affect on them.
Just as an exsample; this is one of my oldest leatherpants, an old GERICKE. I honestly can't count the times, they became wet, messy and muddy. Many times in a rough way outdoor in mudpits, puddles and lakes. After a intense cleaning with Shampoo and good leather care during and after the drying they're still wearable. And i like every single scratch and mark.
I think leather is very sensual in general, messy or not, wearing it is very sensual and warm, the perfect body temperature, warm and hot and very sexy!

oh yes - and I always wear leatherjeans without anything under - and somtime jackets too
I never really understood the issue with making clothing out of leather. Since cows are farmed for food, what would they do with the leather if not made into clothing? Wouldn't it go to waste anyway?
Anyway, as you all can probably guess, my thing is seeing women messing up their leather heels. Even better after they've been worn for a while. Sure, it's not nice to the cows, but much less wasteful than the shoes being collected and displayed in a closet in my opinion.

The people who have issues with leather anything are the same people who have issues with eating meat too. People who are vegetarian or vegan will use vegan leather rather than real leather because of their morals. My issues isn't that I'd real leather considering I have many leather shoes, I guess I'd rather buy cheaper vegan leather as it's better resistant to mess and saves me money.
